Schedule: The course runs on Thursdays 15-18 from March 25th to May 20th 2010 (exact dates: 25/3; 15/4; 22/4; 29/4; 6/5; 20/5)

By working with architectural projects, the course aims at enabling the student to develop tools for feminist interpretations of architecture and in an extended sense, to create new architectures. During the course we will study current feminist theore and examine how houses and other built structures relate to it. The course is built up with individual project assignments, seminars and project reviews.

Under kursen kommer vi i projektform att studera den samtida feministiska teoribildningen och undersöka hur hus och andra byggda strukturer förhåller sig till den. Vi ska ägna oss åt feministisk kritik av arkitekturens kultur och dess förhållande till sexualitet, etnicitet och klass och som vidmakthållare av normativa maktstrukturer. Kursen är uppbyggd kring en serie begrepp, kropp, materialitet, subjektivitet och rum m.fl., som behandlas i relation till arkitektur. Kursen fokuserar på relationerna mellan rum och kropp(ar). Genom ett ingrepp eller intervention undersöker vi kropp, rum och plats i 2-dimensionella och 3-dimensionella gestaltningar.
