By working with writing projects, the course aims at enabling the student to develop tools for feminist interpretations of architecture and in an extended sense, to create new architectures. During the course we will study feminist writing within architectural theory and critical practice. The course is built up with individual assignments, essay-writing, and seminars.

Theme 2010: Places we know and places we don't

This year we are going to work with a publication around a common theme and based on specific writing assignments and work produced during the course. Students will be asked to bring places with an autobiographical significance to the course and write these places with a perspecyve of considering what it means to know a place. These places will then be reflected in places we don't know, i.e. have little or no lived experience from.

Schedule:

Jan 21st - 15-18 - Introductions - place writing
Jan 28th - 15-19 - Places we know - first workshop and reading
NB! Jonathan Hill comes to lecture 17-19!
Feb 4th - 15-18 - ... and places we don't (or do we?)
